Matthew 3
“This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased” (v17). Jesus could have come to earth in a different way: displaying His glory and demanding obedience. Instead, He came as a baby and lived as a man, both teaching and modeling the Kingdom of God. Jesus was already the Son, but He was baptized in water “to fulfill all righteousness.” He was one with the Father, but He prayed constantly and depended on the Spirit.
Jesus lived in such a way that we can not only believe in Him, trust Him, and admire Him, but we can follow Him.
