January 15: II Kings 5-6

II Kings 5-6

"Am I God, to kill and make alive, that this man is sending word to me to cure a man of his leprosy?" (5:7). The king of Israel had no expectation that God could heal, though he acknowledged God's power over life and death. He "tore his clothes," thinking that if he failed to help Naaman, captain of Aram's army, or offended him, war might erupt. He was in an awkward, dangerous position.

The faith of a captured servant girl put the king in that awkward position. She simply believed God could heal, and He did.
