Acts 22
“Go! For I will send you far away to the Gentiles” (v21). The Jerusalem crowd didn’t react as Paul described being raised “strictly according to the law of our fathers” (v3), nor as he described meeting Jesus. But when Paul mentioned his call to the Gentiles, they shouted for his death (v22). They were willing for Paul to serve Jesus, but not to include pagan Gentiles in God’s Kingdom.
We all resist the radical claims of Jesus in some way. He calls us to let this “rubbish” go, “in order that we may gain Christ, and be found in Him” (Phil 3:8-9).
