Genesis 13
“Is not the whole land before you?” (v9). As Abram and his nephew Lot journeyed through Canaan, their livestock and wealth increased. Rather than compete for resources, Abram told Lot to choose whatever land he liked and move there. Walking by faith, Abram didn’t need to guard his claims or to negotiate for the best place for his family and animals. God had brought him this far, and God would certainly take care of him.
Abram’s belief in God’s promises was real; he had no back-up plan. He knew God was faithful, so he was free to be generous with his nephew.
