Proverbs 19

"The fear of the Lord leads to life, so that one may sleep satisfied, untouched by evil" (v23). The proverbs teach that "he who keeps the commandment keeps his soul" (v16). There is a deep peace in being in right relationship with God, despite the storms that rage around us (as righteous Job experienced). Giving in to lust, anger, or dishonesty brings terrible consequences - not only to us, but to our families and friends.

Life always involves trouble, but those who love God can sleep at night without fear. The past, present, and future are in His hands.
