Psalm 4
“Tremble, and do not sin; meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still” (v4). The psalmist gives us a glimpse of a person in trouble, determining in a quiet moment to trust God. Surrounded by people who loved what was worthless and aimed at deception (v2), the psalmist stood firm in his desire to follow God’s ways. Sometimes, when everything is chaos and confusion, the only remedy is to “be still” and “do not sin.”
Meditating on God’s love and power opens a door for His Spirit to calm our hearts. We can sleep peacefully, knowing that He is involved (v8).
