Genesis 18
“Is anything too hard for the Lord?” (v14). As Abraham walked with with the Creator, he learned more about His character. God is not only powerful (giving Abraham and Sarah a baby), but He is kind. He had not withdrawn His promises because of Abraham’s mistakes, so Abraham knew that “the Judge of all the earth” was not eager to punish (v25). Therefore, he asked God to show mercy on the Sodom and Gomorrah for the sake of a very few righteous people (v32).
Nothing is too hard for the Lord. He is “merciful and gracious, slow to anger” (Ex 34:6), and His kindness is beyond our imagination.
