January 27: Acts 22

Acts 22

"But since I could not see because of the brightness of that light ..." (v11). Powerful, educated, zealous Saul was literally blinded by Jesus. He had thought he was seeing clearly, but his Damascus experience proved that he had been spiritually blind. In Jerusalem, beaten by Jews and arrested by Romans, he preached the same message: I was blind, but now I see. Jews and Romans had to lay down their fixed ideas about life in order to hear.

Pride and guilt make us hang on to comfortable old ways of thinking, but Jesus loves us enough to change us.
