January 28: Matthew 7

Matthew 7

“Do not judge, lest you be judged” (v1). Jesus made the invisible God visible, and He affirmed the importance of the inner workings of our hearts – explaining how our thoughts and desires relate to our outward behavior. No longer was simply looking righteous enough. Jesus said that God was concerned with secret things like pride (v4). Jesus also declared the good news that faith in God (the invisible) was a true and strong foundation for life (v24).

Jesus declared that God is a kind Father (v11). He cares enough to both rescue us from evil, and to transform us from inside out.
