Acts 17
“This Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you is the Christ” (v3). Paul’s custom (v2) at first was to preach in the synagogues wherever he went, telling his Jewish brethren that Jesus was the prophesied Messiah. In Thessalonica, “some of them were persuaded,” and in Berea, “many of them therefore believed” (v12). In both cities, non-Jews also began following Jesus (v4). In Athens, Paul preached in the marketplace, and “some men joined him and believed” (v34).
Jesus was the Jewish Messiah, but the message was good news for all. No one is excluded due to family or culture; everyone is invited to receive the Savior.
