Psalm 1

“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night” (v2). The psalmist says that when our affections and desires (our delights) are centered on God, and we allow His Word to transform us daily, we are like a firmly planted tree. The storms of life, the dry seasons, and the pests can’t destroy the branches and root of the tree. Our choices (friends and habits, v1) determine our strength and growth.

The Father’s desire for us is always life – joyful, resilient, and productive. In Christ, He has provided everything we need.
