Psalm 5

“For Thou art not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; no evil dwells with Thee” (v4). In the morning (v3), before facing the work and troubles of the day, the psalmist mentally reviewed the truth about God and the world. God hates evil and is always on the side of good (v4-6). God is with the righteous (Christ makes us righteous) and is our shield (v12); we can hide behind Him. If we ask, He will show us His way (v8).

Once we get our thoughts straight about God and His purposes in the world, our own way becomes clear.
