Psalm 75

“For not from the east, nor from the west, nor from the desert comes exaltation; but God is the judge” (v6,7).  It’s tempting to think that life is about winning the race for success or whatever is defined as “the good life”, or, on a national level, the race for prosperity and power.  While these aren’t necessarily bad goals, ultimately God will “judge with equity” (v2) on His terms.  Whatever doesn’t reflect His glory is destined for wrath (v8).

God’s judgment is comforting to His people (v7), because His mercy and justice are far better than the measurements of the world.
