Genesis 2-3
“When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate …” (v6). God was the One who had made the tree unusually attractive. But the serpent tempted Eve to pursue her desires outside God’s boundaries. Adam and Eve sinned because they didn’t trust the Creator to give them all good things in His time and way.
Taking shortcuts to get what we want leads to misery. In God’s time, He will satisfy our deepest desires.
