January 7: Genesis 6-7

Genesis 6-7

“Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (6:5). This is the “snowball effect” of sin. God had given remarkable gifts to men and women: intelligence, creativity, language, etc. But once sin entered the world, their deepest desires changed. While Cain murdered in a moment of anger, this later generation thought constantly and only of evil. All of their wonderful human gifts became corrupted.

But Noah “walked with God” (6:9). In a dark and ugly world, Noah remembered and worshipped the Creator.
