I Chronicles 24-26
“And they are to stand every morning to thank and to praise the Lord and likewise at evening … on the Sabbaths, the new moons and the fixed festivals …” (23:30-31). The tribe of Levi was dedicated to worshipping God. The descendents of Aaron were priests, while others were singers and musicians (ch 25), and some took charge of the “holy things.” Others were gatekeepers, guards, and managers of Temple treasures (26:20).
The rest of Israel lived peacefully, farming and building and raising families as long as this Temple worship continued. “God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved” (46:5).
