Genesis 7

“Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation” (7:1).  Noah built the ark because he believed what God said.  There is no record of external signs; he simply heard God’s warning, built the ark, and entered it with his family when God told him to.  Noah didn’t hide when God spoke to him; he accepted God’s word as a message of escape and salvation.

It’s possible that others heard God’s warning or saw Noah building the ark.  But our hearts must be open in order to receive God’s words of mercy and salvation.
