II Kings 1

"Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-zebub, god of Ekron?" (v3). King Ahaziah did not believe in the Living God. When he was ill, he turned to an idol instead of the One who could heal him. As King, his actions were a model for everyone else in the land. Elijah prophesied that Ahaziah would die for this lack of faith.

If we believe that God is real, and that He loves us, we will turn to Him first. For comfort, healing, refuge, wisdom, and strength - He is our source.
