Isaiah 49

“It is too small a thing … to raise up the tribes of Jacob … I will also make You a light of the nations so that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth” (v6).  God’s purpose has always been the salvation of “the ends of the earth” – not just Israel.  Infinite in time, power, knowledge, and love, God cares about each of His creatures.  He said to Zion/Israel: “I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands” (v16).

Our names, too, are written on His hands.  Through Jesus, the Father’s love is big enough for “the ends of the earth.”
