July 13: Psalm 106:28-48

Psalm 106:28-48

“Nevertheless He looked upon their distress … and relented according to the greatness of His lovingkindness” (v45). Just in case we might forget, the psalmist recalled exactly what sins the Israelites committed. They didn’t trust God’s power, despite His miracles. They worshipped an idol and “even sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons” (v37). They acted as horribly as any people on earth, but God remembered His covenant with them (v45).

Even our most terrible failures can’t separate us from the love of God. He is constantly pursuing His creation, working toward our redemption.
