Joshua 1-4
“I will not fail you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous …” (1:6). Joshua had been given the responsibility of leading the Israelites into the Promised Land, which was filled with enemy tribes. His courage had to be based on trust in God’s faithfulness. Individuals in those foreign tribes also had the opportunity to choose God, like Rahab did. She courageously chose to claim allegiance to the Israelites’ God, trusting that He could take care of her.
Like Joshua and Rahab, when we trust that God will not fail us, we discover the courage to live as His followers in a difficult world.
