July 17: Psalm 107

Psalm 107

“For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, and the hungry soul He has filled with what is good” (v9).  The “lovingkindness” of God is everlasting (v1), and this psalm affirms that His love is not abstract, but personal and powerful.  God rescues those who wander around, alone and lost, and He leads them to “an inhabited city” (v7).  He forgives and delivers those who are in “darkness and the shadow of death” due to their own rebellion (v14).

When His people are “at their wits’ end” (v27), God calms the sea and the storm.  His lovingkindness never fails to bring light to our darkness.
