July 18: II Corinthians 13

II Corinthians 13

“For indeed He was crucified because of weakness, yet He lives because of the power of God” (v4).  Jesus was crucified because of our weakness; He carried our sins and our death.  But He lives “because of the power of God.”  Resurrected, He has the power to forgive and transform us, and this is the power that Paul described as “mighty in you” (v3).  Paul believed that even though the Corinthians had fallen into immorality (12:21), Jesus’ resurrection power could help them.

Our destiny is to “be made complete” (v9,11).  As we submit to His love and authority, our lives will reflect Christ more and more.
