Luke 13:1-17
“There are six days in which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day” (v14). Even the Pharisees admitted that healing was a good thing; they just didn’t want their entire way of life turned upside down. They wanted to Jesus to do His wonderful miracles within the established structure, which meant not on the Sabbath. They wanted to affirm the good works He did, but they also wanted to keep their comfortable understanding of religion and life.
Jesus came to turn our world upside-down. He makes us uncomfortable in order to lead us toward wholeness.
