Job 25-26
“He stretches out the north over empty space, and hangs the earth on nothing” (v7). Job rejected his friends’ weak comfort, and their belief that his own sin had caused his misery infuriated him. He rebuked them sarcastically: “What a help you are to the weak!” (26:1). But in all the confusion, Job kept returning to the one thing he knew: the Creator is in control. “He quieted the sea with His power” (v12).
Job only glimpsed “the fringes of His ways” (v14), but it was enough. If God controls the sky and sea, He can make sense of our lives.
