Joshua 9-11

"There was no day like that before it or after it, when the LORD listened to the voice of a man” (10:14).  We don’t know the science of what happened that day, when “the sun stopped in the middle of the sky.”  But somehow God gave the Israelites enough time to win the battle, as time and space itself obeyed the Creator’s command.  God was faithful, just as Moses had said: “He will not fail you or forsake you” (Deut 31:6). 

“Then Joshua spoke to the Lord”.  In his moment of need, Joshua believed that the most extravagant promises of God were really true.
