Job 42
“I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees Thee … I repent in dust and ashes” (v6). When God first showed up, Job covered his mouth (40:4). After experiencing God’s presence and listening to His voice, Job repented. God accepted Job (42:8-9); indeed, God had accepted Job from the beginning (ch 1). The difference was that through this experience, Job met God personally. God restored Job’s happiness and fortunes.
God’s powerful, loving Presence is more than enough for us. Through the fellowship of the Spirit, we can speak with the Creator as Job did.
