July 28: II Corinthians 13

II Corinthians 13

“Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith, examine yourselves!” (v5). Paul said that on his next visit, he would “not spare anyone” (v2) from rebuke and correction if they continued in sin. His letter urged the Corinthians to examine themselves and remember “that Jesus Christ is in you” (v5). It was far better to recognize their sin and repent than to be publicly disciplined by Paul when he arrived.

Jesus Christ will judge unrepentant sin, but when we ask for help, that same power frees us from sin’s bondage (v4).
