July 3: Psalm 104

Psalm 104

“The earth is full of Thy possessions” (v24).  This psalm describes the delights of God’s orderly, beautiful, thriving world.  Every living thing has its home and its purpose.  “The high mountains are for the wild goats … the sun knows the place of its setting” (v18-19). Conscious or not, they glorify their Creator and depend on Him for everything: “They all wait for Thee, to give them their food in due season” (v27).

Flying and swimming, growing and reproducing, the variety of living things on our planet reflects the amazing, joyful goodness of God.  “The earth is satisfied with the fruit of His works” (v13).
