Psalm 109
“Because Thy lovingkindness is good, deliver me; for I am afflicted and needy” (v21). The psalmist said that the contrast between the righteous and wicked wasn’t simply a matter of action, but of desire. Wicked people loved and cultivated evil. “He also loved cursing, so it came to him … he clothed himself with cursing as with his garment, and it entered into his body like water” (v17-18). “Cursing” meant using words to destroy someone else.
But the psalmist recognized that God was good. His heart and eyes were set on God, admiring His goodness and rejoicing in His love (v30).
