Proverbs 10
"When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more, but the righteous has an everlasting foundation” (v25). While the proverbs teach that good behavior tends to lead to a prosperous and peaceful life, they also acknowledge that every life includes heartache and disruption: the “whirlwinds” that knock everyone down. But after the wind stops blowing, the righteous (those who have put themselves in God’s hands) are still secure. They will “never be shaken” from their foundation, which is Jesus Christ (v30).
“The hope of the righteous is gladness” (v28). Despite the whirlwinds, we believe that God will bring us gladness in the end.
