Psalm 35
“Lord, who is like you, delivering the afflicted from him who is too strong for him …?” (v10). There are many things “too strong” for us. In the psalmist’s case, it was “malicious witnesses,” men who stirred up trouble and rejoiced at others’ misfortunes. Ultimately, these enemies wanted to see the psalmist completely destroyed (v4). The psalmist didn’t have the resources to defend himself. He called on God to “fight against those who fight against me!” (v1).
Sickness, addictions, grief, depression, and financial burdens may all be “too strong for us.” God is greater than them all, and He will fight for us.
