II Corinthians 7
“But we were afflicted on every side: conflicts without, fears within. But God, who comforts the depressed, comforted us by the coming of Titus …” (v6). Paul often admitted that he and his fellow apostles and teachers were scared. They knew they were inadequate for the tasks facing them. They had to enter territory where Christ was unknown and spiritual darkness was powerful. They had to correct, train, and encourage believers – a process filled with potential conflict.
God comforted the apostles by sending a new worker, Titus. God knows our deepest fears and needs and how to best care for us.
