July 9: Psalm 105

Psalm 105

“They asked, and He brought quail, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven” (v40).  The psalmist tells us to “Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face continually” (v4).  We are not praying to an abstract, unknown Power, but to the known and proven God of Abraham.  Therefore, we should “remember His wonders which He has done” (v5), like rescuing the Israelite slaves out of Egypt and supplying their needs in the desert.  They cried out, and He answered.

He fulfilled His “everlasting covenant” with them (v10), and we can trust that He is the same God for us today.
