Deuteronomy 2

“Now the time that it took was 38 years … until all the generation of the men of war perished” (2:14).  This was the generation who had been miraculously delivered from Egypt, received manna and water in the desert, and been led by God’s cloud in the day and fire at night.  Yet when they saw the well-armed inhabitants of the Promised Land, they didn’t believe God was greater.  So God promised they would die in the wilderness.

The only way anyone, in any time or place, has ever entered God’s kingdom is by faith (Heb 11).  He had done everything; we simply believe.
