Psalm 100
“It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves” (v3). Regularly, we need this wonderful reminder. The psalmist lived in a time when people tried to control their destinies by magic and idol-worship, and he knew that true peace and happiness comes from recognizing the kind, powerful Creator who made us all. We were His idea, and He called His creation “very good.” We are His people, the “sheep of His pasture” (v3), and when we submit to His authority, our lives make sense.
“His lovingkindness is everlasting” (v5). In the beginning, God’s purposes for His creation were good, and His lovingkindness has not changed.
