June 13: II Corinthians 3

II Corinthians 3

“For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life” (v6).  Paul declared that he and the other apostles were “servants of a new covenant” (v6).  This new covenant is based not on what we can do for God, but on what God in Christ has done for us.  We don’t simply follow a written code which, if we break it, leads to our death, but instead we follow Christ, who has written His new covenant of reconciliation “on tablets of human hearts” (v3).

Forgiven and made holy by the work of Jesus Christ, we “are being transformed into the same image” day by day (v18).
