Isaiah 21-24
“The earth is also polluted by its inhabitants, for they transgressed laws, violated statutes, broke the everlasting covenant” (24:6). Isaiah prophesied judgment against the powerful cities of his day, like Babylon and Tyre (ch 22-23). After centuries of idol-worship, these centers of commerce and culture were conquered by other nations. Isaiah also saw that God would eventually bring judgment against the entire “polluted” earth. One day, every person will have to face Him, whether servant or master, buyer or seller (24:2).
The good news is that God has revealed Himself in Christ as our Redeemer. He never desires our destruction, but does everything possible to rescue us.
