Isaiah 26-27
“Let him rely on My protection; let him make peace with Me” (27:5). This is God’s desire for us. His anger with Israel was due to the fact that they made alliances with pagan nations and tried to rely on their own strength. “You did not depend on Him who made it, nor did you take into consideration Him who planned it long ago” (22:11). Knowing that we are ultimately helpless and headed for death without Him, God calls us to make our peace with Him through Christ.
When our hope is in Him and not ourselves, we find the security and “perfect peace” we desperately need (26:3).
