June 18: Deuteronomy 8-11

Deuteronomy 8-11

“In the wilderness He fed you manna which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do good for you in the end” (8:16).  Every person who follows God by faith must grasp this truth: God loves us, and He is working for our good.  Moses told the Israelites that their wilderness sufferings served to reveal “what was in your heart” and teach them to depend on God alone (v2-3).

God’s purposes are not always so clear, yet we still follow Him by faith, trusting that He will “do good for us in the end.”
