Psalm 101
“My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; he who walks in a blameless way is the one who will minister to me” (v6). The psalmist was making a commitment to spend time with those whose lives were blameless and pure. He decided to stay far away from those who “secretly slander” their neighbors or have “arrogant hearts” (v5). As a leader, his choice of friends had enormous consequences for the whole community.
We are called to share God’s love beyond the walls of the church. However, we must live wisely, knowing that our closest friends inevitably shape our character.
