June 19: Psalm 102

Psalm 102

“Thou wilt arise and have compassion on Zion; for it is time to be gracious to her, for the appointed time has come” (v13).  The psalmist reminds us that God is “forever” (v12), unchanging (v26-27).  Being eternal, He knows when and how to fulfill His compassionate purposes on earth.  He heard the “groaning of the prisoner” (v20), and at the right time sent the Messiah (Rom 5:6).

The psalmist was lonely, depressed, and in pain (v1-7).  But he knew that the Creator heard his prayers and would answer at the right time.
