II Corinthians 4:8-18

“Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day” (v16). Paul taught that we should keep our eyes and hopes fixed on “the things which are not seen” (v18). This “unseen” world includes our spirits – the part of us that is transformed during troubles, if we cling to Christ. We may be afflicted, but “not crushed,” struck down, but “not destroyed” (v8-9).

Our earthly world may fall apart, but it is not the end. With Christ, our present life is just the beginning of a wonderful adventure.
