Isaiah 33-34

“Your eyes will see the King in His beauty; they will behold a far-distant land” (33:17).  This is “the judgment”: one day, we will face God Himself.  His purity will be like a flame, and “who among us can live with the consuming fire” (v14)?  Those who trust in the righteousness of the Son will be safe on that day (v15).  He is “our salvation in the time of distress” (v22), and we can be sure that He will forgive our sins (v24).

Paul said that one day we will see Jesus “face to face,” but all fear will be swallowed up by love (I Cor 13:12).
