June 26: Psalm 103

Psalm 103

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits.”  This beautiful psalm reminds us of “the benefits” of our Creator.  We often forget what God is really like.  He “pardons all your iniquities” and “heals all your diseases” (v3).  He “satisfies your years with good things” (v5).  He is “compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness” (v8).  He casts our sins away “as far as the east is from the west” (v12).

Daily life can cloud and distort our image of God.  The Word gives us fresh perspective on the God who “has compassion on those who fear Him” (v13).
