Psalm 33

“For our heart rejoices in Him, because we trust in His holy name” (v21).  The psalmist worshipped the Creator and said, “Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him” (v8).  Though powerful, this Creator is not cold or distant, but rather compassionate: “He who fashions the hearts of them all, He who understands all their works” (v15).  “The plans of His heart” (v11) are to forgive, redeem, and restore His wayward, rebellious creation.

Our hearts trust and rejoice in our Creator (v21) because He is full of understanding and mercy toward us.
