Job 19-20
“These ten times you have insulted me!” (19:3). No matter what Job said, his friends responded by telling him that he was in the wrong. They believed that everyone “got what they deserved” in life, so they saw Job’s troubles as his own fault. Job insisted that he was innocent, and that “the hand of God has struck me” (v21). He was painfully alone, ignored by his family, and he was angry. He knew that only God could help him.
Job clung stubbornly to his faith. He said, “I know that my Redeemer lives … whom I myself shall behold” (v25-27).
