Psalm 103

“Just as a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him” (v13). Good parents recognize that their children are completely dependent on them, physically and emotionally. Only years of careful nurturing will produce healthy grown adults. The psalmist says that God “is mindful that we are but dust” – He perfectly understands our nature and needs. He is “slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness” (v8).

God “pardons all your iniquities” and “heals all your diseases” (v3). His love is strong and gentle, capable of making us whole.
