June 30: Job 21-22

Job 21-22

“Why do the wicked still live, and continue on, also become very powerful?” (21:7). Job asked the hard questions. Why do some people who care nothing for God (v14) find success? Why do the righteous suffer? Job also wondered what the point of life was. Some people are miserable, others satisfied, and then we all die (v23-26). Why be good if there’s no guarantee of happiness?

Job eventually met “the God of all comfort” (II Cor 1). On this earth our “guarantee” is that He will stay with us, carrying us until the end when He makes all things right.
