Luke 8

“Do not be afraid any longer; only believe, and she shall be made well” (v50).  Three events demonstrate Jesus’ power over earthly forces.  Jesus “rebuked the wind and surging waves” (v24), showing that the physical world was His to control.  He cast out demons from a tormented man, showing that evil spirits cannot resist Him.  And when Jairus’ little daughter died, Jesus raised her from the dead, showing His power over time (He is never “too late”) and death itself.

Earth and heaven, evil spirits, and death itself bow to Jesus, Son of God.  We must bow, too, laying our entire lives at His feet.
